Hello! We hope you all are enjoying your July. We won’t be meeting this month, so we wanted to give you a quick update about the November elections.
The parts of the Heights that are in Congressional District 18 (formerly held by Sheila Jackson Lee and Sylvester Turner) have a special election to fill the empty seat on November 4, 2025.
Councilwoman Letitia Plummer has stepped down from her seat on City Council to run for County Judge in 2026. This means that there will be a special election on November 4, 2025, to fill her now-vacant seat (the same day at the special election for Congressional District 18). Everyone in the Greater Heights area is within the City of Houston boundaries, so everyone in the Heights will have something to vote for in November. Let your neighbors know!
